We’re delighted to announce that MozyPro for Mac is now generally available (you can get it here). This version of the Mozy online backup service helps make the world a safer place for businesses using Mac desktops, notebooks and servers.
Most businesses today are information-driven and that tends to be especially true for businesses that use Macs. The loss of crucial intellectual assets can be devastating for any business. Fortunately, Mozy can provide simple, automatic and secure online backup at an offsite location of critical business information.
Hundreds of businesses have already adopted MozyPro for Mac since the service entered public beta in September. This final release boosts upload speeds, adds support for mounted network drives and simplifies administration.
We’ve seen huge growth in our MozyHome for Mac business this year, mirroring Apple’s recent success in the marketplace. Less well known is Apple’s success in the business market. A recent financial report from Needham Co. suggests Apple tripled its small business sales between the second and third quarters of this year. Needless to say, we’re very excited about MozyPro for Mac. And because it uses the standard MozyPro web-based administrative console, businesses can manage both Macs and Windows machines from a single interface.
MozyPro for Mac supports Mac OS X 10.4, Mac OS X 10.5 and Mac OS X Server 10.4 and 10.5. The pricing for desktops and laptops is $3.95 per machine plus fifty cents per gigabyte per month, while servers are $6.95 per machine plus fifty cents per gigabyte per month.
